CASE FILE · INSTAGRAM GROWTH
Short version: Social Buddy promises real, targeted followers with no bots, but what actually turned up behaved like bots: thousands arrived while engagement fell from 3.9% to 0.7%, and hundreds vanished soon after. The growth service is also waitlisted with no public price. For real people who engage, read our Upleap review instead.
Social Buddy calls itself the number one Instagram growth service for organic followers. Alongside that service it now sells courses, including the Instagram Growth Blueprint and a Threads course, and runs a community and a how-to blog.
Our two earlier write-ups judged it harshly, and this rewrite pulls them together with a fresh test. The site has changed since then: growth is now sold through a waitlist rather than open plans, which puts it in an odd spot among the Instagram growth tools we track.
Social Buddy describes its growth service as advanced social media marketing that brings you targeted followers who choose to follow you. In practice the process is mostly hidden: you join, wait, and then watch the number change.
Fill in the waitlist form with your name, email and Instagram username. Social Buddy says the wait is usually a few days.
When a spot opens, Social Buddy emails you to continue. Pricing is only shared at this stage.
The team runs its marketing processes in the background. You don't set targets or filters yourself in a dashboard.
Your follower count starts climbing. In our case it climbed fast, while likes and comments didn't keep up.
It's hard to name anyone Social Buddy's growth service clearly suits. The followers it sent us looked like a crowd of bot accounts, and right now you can't even buy the service straight away: new customers join a waitlist.
The appeal is simple. Someone else handles your growth, you never share a password, and the site promises followers who are genuinely interested in your content.
Courses are the more useful part of the business. If you'd rather learn to grow yourself, the Blueprint's six modules cover the same ground as our free guide to earning followers organically, only in video form.
The growth service is where things fall down. A follower count that rises while engagement sinks leaves your account looking busier but performing worse, because Instagram rewards posts that people actually react to.
We saw the same pattern with other services this month. Our Inflact review shows a near-identical jump and slump.
Follower shops that sell packages instead of growth plans did no better either: Famoid left us with the same kind of silent audience.
Social Buddy handled one of our smaller test accounts from September into October 2026, a full 30-day run. At the outset the profile counted only 665 followers, and our posting habits stayed exactly as before.
Instagram Insights gave us the daily figures: followers, engagement rate and reach over the last 30 days. Fourteen days after we ended the service, we took one more reading to measure the drop-off among the newcomers.
| Metric | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Followers | 665 | 3,919 |
| Engagement rate | 3.9% | 0.7% |
| Accounts reached (30 days) | 2,805 | 2,913 |
| Followers lost after we stopped (14 days) | – | 417 |
Joining only needs your username, so you keep your login to yourself.
The $97 Instagram Growth Blueprint course covers profile setup, content, hashtags and monetization across six modules, which is fair value if you want to learn the basics yourself.
Our follower count went from 665 to 3,919 in a month, but engagement dropped from 3.9% to 0.7% while reach hardly shifted. A fortnight after the service ended, 417 of those followers had already gone. Social Buddy promises "no fake followers or bots", yet what arrived behaved exactly like bot accounts.
The growth service is on a waitlist. You hand over your name, email and Instagram username, then wait for an email saying a spot has opened. There's no checkout and no plan page to compare.
The site doesn't list what the growth service costs. You only find out after joining the queue, which makes it impossible to judge value before you commit.
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Instagram growth service | Not published | Waitlist only; you give your name, email and username, and pricing comes later |
| Instagram Growth Blueprint | $97 one-off | Four hours of video across six modules, from profile setup to monetization |
Social Buddy doesn't publish a monthly price for its growth service. New customers join a waitlist and receive details by email when a spot opens.
The course is a single payment, not a subscription. The site shows it at $97 with a regular price of $297.
Prices checked October 15, 2026.
Social Buddy doesn't ask for your password, which removes one obvious risk. The bigger risk is the followers themselves: thousands of accounts that never react drag your engagement rate down, and Instagram shows posts to fewer people when engagement falls.
When Instagram clears out inactive and fake accounts, followers like these tend to vanish in batches, as 417 of ours did. You can read how Instagram decides what to recommend in Instagram's recommendation rules.
Whatever service you try, turn on Instagram's two-factor login and judge results by likes and comments rather than headcount.

Social Buddy talks a good game about organic growth, but our month told a different story. Follower numbers ballooned, interaction caved in and hundreds walked away within a fortnight, the classic signs of bot followers. With no public price and a waitlist on top, there's little reason to wait in line. Real followers who engage are easier to get from the growth services ranked.
The followers behaved like bots, the price is hidden and there's a waitlist. Upleap is the better pick.
2/5It sells two things: a managed Instagram growth service, currently waitlisted, and online courses such as the Instagram Growth Blueprint. It also runs a creator community and a blog.
It says its followers are real and that it never uses bots. Our results point the other way: the account jumped by 3,254 followers while engagement fell from 3.9% to 0.7%, and 417 followers vanished within two weeks of stopping.
The growth service has no public price. The Instagram Growth Blueprint course is $97 as a one-off payment, against a listed regular price of $297.
No. The sign-up form only asks for your name, email address and Instagram username.
Its Trustpilot page showed 3.6 out of 5 from 62 reviews when we checked on October 15, 2026. Several of those reviews are years old, from when the service worked differently.
Upleap gives you a real account manager, publishes its prices, and 96 in every 100 of its new followers were still with us after the test. If you want the most engaged followers, pick Kicksta.
