CASE FILE · INSTAGRAM GROWTH
Short version: Path Social delivered bot followers. Our count shot up by almost 12,000 in a month, but engagement collapsed, reach fell and nearly 500 followers vanished soon after we cancelled. For growth from people who actually engage, read our Kicksta review.
Path Social sells Instagram growth with a promise of genuine, organic followers and no password required. Instead of logging in, it says it promotes your profile through influencers, publications and its own platform, guided by AI targeting.
It's one of the better-known names among Instagram growth tools and has been around for years. Our earlier review covered it too, but with a full 30-day test behind us, our verdict is now firmly negative.
Path Social doesn't log in to your account. It says it promotes your profile through a network of influencers, publications and its own platform, using AI to choose the audience. What reaches your account, in our experience, is a large number of followers who don't engage.
Pick Core or Elite and pay. Annual billing is the default on the pricing page, so switch to monthly if that's what you want.
You give your handle and describe the audience you want. No password is needed.
Path Social says its AI targeting and influencer network put your profile in front of new people. Elite adds a dedicated account manager.
Growth is promised within two days, with a refund if it doesn't start.
Core aims for between 1,000 and 2,000 new followers monthly; Elite aims higher, at between 2,500 and 3,500.
Path Social sells itself on organic growth and safety, and it's true that you never hand over a password. But the followers it brought to our account acted like bots, and that undid the very engagement a growth service is meant to build.
The pitch is attractive: no password, no bots, guaranteed results and a refund if growth doesn't start. For anyone burned by automation tools, that sounds like the safe choice.
The trouble is what those followers do once they arrive. A profile that gains thousands of followers while engagement drops by four-fifths looks less interesting to Instagram, not more, and reach suffers as a result.
If you want growth that doesn't backfire, the steps in our guide to growing engaged audiences still work, and a service that brings real people can speed them up.
Path Social's results weren't unique. Our Plixi review found almost the same pattern, from the sudden follower jump to the collapse in engagement.
We saw it again with UpGrow, which also promises real followers without a password.
Path Social had a month on one of our test profiles, spanning September and October 2026. It began with 2,563 followers, and we posted exactly as we normally would.
Instagram Insights gave us the daily numbers for followers, engagement and accounts reached. When the month was up we cancelled, then returned after 14 days to see how many had already unfollowed.
| Metric | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Followers | 2,563 | 14,463 |
| Engagement rate | 4.0% | 0.8% |
| Accounts reached (30 days) | 9,949 | 9,193 |
| Followers lost after we stopped (14 days) | – | 498 |
You never share your password, and nothing logs in to your account.
Path Social promises a refund if your growth doesn't start, which lowers the risk of trying it.
Our account went from 2,563 to 14,463 followers in 30 days, yet engagement collapsed from 4.0% to 0.8% and reach actually fell. Within two weeks of stopping, 498 of them were gone. That's how bot accounts behave, not people who chose to follow.
Path Social's FAQ says you won't lose any followers after cancelling. We lost 498 in the first 14 days.
The site shows a 4.8 out of 5 rating from more than 26,000 reviews. On Trustpilot, Path Social's rating was unavailable when we checked on October 15, 2026, with a notice that the company had breached its guidelines.
The pricing page leads with annual plans and crossed-out prices, so the real monthly cost isn't obvious. Monthly billing is $49 for Core and $69 for Elite.
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Core | $49/month | Between 1,000 and 2,000 new followers monthly, with an AI profile review, analytics and a live dashboard |
| Elite | $69/month | Between 2,500 and 3,500 new followers monthly, with advanced AI targeting and a dedicated account manager |
Monthly prices are read from Path Social's own pricing data. The pricing page shows annual billing by default ($29 and $41 a month, paid yearly) next to crossed-out prices, so check which option you're choosing at checkout.
Path Social doesn't list a free trial, but promises a refund if your growth doesn't start.
Prices checked October 15, 2026.
Because Path Social never logs in, your password stays private, which removes one common risk. The problem lies in what arrives instead: a crowd of followers who don't react to anything you post.
Instagram removes fake and inactive accounts in waves, which fits with the hundreds of followers we lost after cancelling. Its recommendation eligibility rules also make clear that reach depends on how people respond to your content, so an unresponsive audience works against you.
Whatever service you choose, protect your account with Instagram's two-factor sign-in first.

Path Social promises organic, risk-free growth, but our results looked like bot followers: thousands of new accounts, engagement sinking to 0.8%, falling reach and 498 gone within two weeks. With its Trustpilot rating withdrawn as well, we can't recommend it. Kicksta and the top growth services we rank bring in real people who interact with your posts.
Its followers behaved like bots and dragged our engagement down. Kicksta brings real people instead.
2/5In our test they didn't act like real people. Our profile added 11,900 followers within 30 days as engagement dropped from 4.0% to 0.8%, reach dropped and 498 vanished within two weeks of stopping, the pattern of bot followers.
Core is $49 a month and Elite is $69 a month on monthly billing. Annual billing works out cheaper per month but is paid upfront for the year.
No. You only give your username and the kind of audience you want. Path Social says it promotes you through influencers, publications and its own platform.
Its FAQ says no, but we lost 498 followers in the two weeks after stopping.
Path Social is an established business, but we can't recommend it. The followers it sent acted like bots, and Trustpilot was showing no score for it after a rules breach.
Kicksta for paid growth from real people, or SocialFollow if you want a free option that also needs no password.
