CASE FILE · INSTAGRAM GROWTH
Short version: UpGrow delivered bot followers. Our account gained almost 12,000 followers in a month, yet engagement fell from 3.1% to 0.3% and reach dropped. If you want real people who engage, our Nitreo review covers a far better option.
UpGrow sells Instagram growth plans built around a promise of genuine followers, delivered through what it calls AI-powered growth, paid advertising and real-human experts. It doesn't ask for your password and offers monthly follower ranges on each plan.
Next to its growth plans, it runs a shop selling followers, likes and views as one-off packages. Among the Instagram growth tools on our site, few market themselves as aggressively.
UpGrow says it combines AI models, paid advertising, micro-interactions and a human team to bring you followers. You connect with your username, and it does the rest out of view.
Sign up and get a 1-day trial to explore the dashboard and connect your account.
Basic, Pro or Turbo, each with a promised monthly follower range. Pro adds AI competitor targeting; Turbo adds a dedicated account manager.
Choose location, age, gender and language preferences for your target audience.
UpGrow's system and team start bringing followers to your profile from the first day.
A live dashboard shows your numbers. If you see no net-positive growth after 7 days, you can ask for a refund for that month.
UpGrow talks about AI, real-human experts and guaranteed organic growth. In our test it produced a huge jump in followers who behaved like bots, while the engagement and reach that make Instagram growth worthwhile went backwards.
On paper, UpGrow ticks a lot of boxes: no password, a live dashboard, a dedicated manager on Turbo and a refund if your count doesn't grow in the first week.
But the guarantee is about follower numbers, and that's the wrong thing to measure. In our test the count soared while the share of followers interacting with our posts fell by about nine-tenths, which leaves an account less visible, not more.
Growth that helps your account brings people who stay and react. Our guide to attracting engaged followers walks through how that works.
UpGrow's results matched other services we tested. Our Ascend Viral review found the same sudden jump followed by collapsing engagement.
Social Boost is another service in this group that we'd steer you away from.
We gave UpGrow one test profile for a month across September and October 2026. Before it started, the profile had 2,497 followers.
Engagement rate, follower count and reach all came from Instagram Insights, checked daily. Two weeks after we cancelled, we counted how many of the gained followers had since disappeared.
| Metric | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Followers | 2,497 | 14,295 |
| Engagement rate | 3.1% | 0.3% |
| Accounts reached (30 days) | 11,800 | 10,920 |
| Followers lost after we stopped (14 days) | – | 377 |
You only connect your username, so your password stays private.
The 7-day Real Growth Guarantee means you can get your money back if your follower count doesn't rise, although it says nothing about engagement.
Our account grew from 2,497 to 14,295 followers in a month, but engagement plunged from 3.1% to 0.3% and reach went down. After we stopped, 377 followers were gone within two weeks. Those are the signs of bot followers, not an audience.
UpGrow says "no bots, no fake followers" and guarantees authentic followers. The ones we received didn't engage at all, which is hard to square with that promise.
Its site shows 4.98 out of 5 from 58,000 reviews. Trustpilot, by contrast, displayed no rating at all for UpGrow on October 15, 2026, saying the company had broken its rules.
Countdown timers, "seats left" counters and a permanent-looking 60% off sale make it hard to tell what you'll really pay, and the discounted prices only apply to annual plans.
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | $69/month | Advertises 1,000–2,000 followers per month; location, age, gender and language filters; live dashboard |
| Pro | $99/month | Advertises 2,500–3,500+ followers per month; AI competitor targeting, profile optimization and Boost |
| Turbo | $129/month | Advertises 3,500–5,000+ followers per month; adds a dedicated account manager and PDF reports |
These are UpGrow's monthly prices. The 50% to 60% discounts shown around the page apply to annual plans paid upfront, not to monthly billing.
UpGrow also runs a shop selling one-off packages of likes, followers and views, with likes from $1.99. Shop orders come with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Prices checked October 15, 2026.
UpGrow doesn't need your password, so there's no login to protect from it. The real risk to your account is the audience it leaves behind: thousands of followers who don't engage pull down the signals Instagram uses to decide who sees your posts.
Instagram's usage terms are worth reading before you pay any service to add followers, and when fake or inactive accounts get removed, the numbers you paid for go with them, as our 377 lost followers show.
Keep your account safe with two-factor sign-in protection, and judge any growth service by engagement, not follower count.

UpGrow promises authentic growth with no bots, but what arrived looked like bot followers: engagement sank to 0.3%, reach fell and 377 disappeared within two weeks. Pushy pricing and a withdrawn Trustpilot rating don't help. You'll get real, engaged people from the best growth services we've tested, such as Kicksta and Nitreo.
The followers behaved like bots and our engagement collapsed. Nitreo or Kicksta are far better choices.
1.5/5Not in our experience. The account added 11,798 followers over 30 days, yet engagement slid from 3.1% to 0.3%, reach dropped and 377 vanished within two weeks of stopping. They behaved like bot accounts.
Basic is $69, Pro is $99 and Turbo is $129 a month on monthly billing. Annual plans cost less per month but are charged for the full year at once.
UpGrow says it connects with just your username, without a password or login.
New accounts get a 1-day trial to look around the dashboard. UpGrow also promises a full monthly refund if you don't see net-positive growth after the first 7 days.
UpGrow operates openly, but we advise against it. Our new followers ignored our posts entirely, and Trustpilot currently shows no score for UpGrow because of a guidelines violation.
Nitreo, which costs less and kept 97% of its followers in our test, or Kicksta if engaged followers matter most.
