CASE FILE · INSTAGRAM GROWTH
Short version: Thunderclap sells Instagram followers one-off or by monthly subscription, with no password needed. Across our 30-day test, the followers it delivered looked like bots: more than 7,000 arrived, engagement sank to 0.4% and hundreds were gone a fortnight later. If you want real growth, our Kicksta review is a better place to look.
Thunderclap is an online store for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube engagement. On Instagram it sells followers, likes, views, story views and comments, plus automatic likes and a monthly follower subscription it calls a growth service.
Despite the name, that growth service doesn't help people discover you. It's a recurring order of followers, so it works nothing like the Instagram growth tools we recommend.
Thunderclap doesn't promote your profile to anyone. It adds followers to your account in batches, spread over hours so the jump looks less sudden. The subscription repeats that every month until you cancel.
Choose a one-off follower package, or a monthly subscription that sends a fixed number of followers every month.
Enter the username or link. No password is requested.
Orders usually begin within half an hour and trickle in over several hours.
On a subscription, a new batch arrives every month until you cancel.
If the count drops within 30 days, Thunderclap refills it at no cost.
Thunderclap sells followers two ways: as one-off packages, or as a subscription that drops a set number onto your profile every month. Either way you're buying a number. Our test showed what that number is worth.
The appeal is speed and price. A few dollars buys a visible jump in followers, and the subscription keeps the number climbing without any effort on your part.
But a follower count only helps when the people behind it engage. When engagement falls this sharply, fewer of your followers ever see each post, which is the opposite of what most buyers want. Our guide to building real followers covers what moves the needle instead.
We saw the same thing with other follower shops. Our Views4You review found another big jump in numbers that came with a collapse in engagement.
Even services that talk about AI targeting can end up in the same place, as our test of RiseKarma showed.
If you want growth that comes from real people in your niche, Flock Social's service is one of the options we'd actually recommend.
Thunderclap delivered to one of our test profiles during a 30-day run across September and October 2026; it had 1,617 followers on day one. Posting carried on as normal, with no other changes.
Instagram Insights gave us start and end figures for followers, engagement and month-long reach. Then we stopped ordering and, 14 days on, counted the followers that had disappeared.
| Metric | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Followers | 1,617 | 8,783 |
| Engagement rate | 3.1% | 0.4% |
| Accounts reached (30 days) | 6,960 | 7,398 |
| Followers lost after we stopped (14 days) | – | 311 |
Thunderclap only needs a username or link, never your Instagram password.
Orders start quickly and support is available around the clock by chat and email.
Our test account grew from 1,617 to 8,783 followers, while engagement collapsed from 3.1% to 0.4%. Reach barely changed, and 311 had unfollowed within a fortnight of our last order. A wave of silent followers that later melts away is the signature of bot accounts.
The growth subscription is a monthly follower delivery, from $1.99 for 100 followers a month up to $76.99 for 10,000. It's still buying followers, just on repeat.
Refunds are offered if Thunderclap fails to deliver. If followers arrive and then leave, you get a free top-up within 30 days instead, not your money back.
Its Trustpilot score is 3.6 from 47 reviews, and recent critical reviews describe orders that never arrived and followers that dropped away after delivery.
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Follower subscription | From $1.99/month | 100 High Quality followers a month; up to 10,000 a month for $76.99 |
| Premium subscription | From $2.99/month | 100 Premium followers a month |
| One-off followers | From $2.49 | 100 followers in a single order, up to 200,000 |
The monthly subscription delivers a set number of followers each month; Premium followers cost a little more than High Quality. Annual billing is cheaper, but the prices above are monthly.
Every order includes a 30-day refill. Refunds can be requested within 30 days, mainly if an order isn't delivered.

Thunderclap doesn't need your login, which keeps your account itself out of reach. But paying for followers sits outside Instagram's community terms, and a crowd of accounts that never engage is what Instagram's periodic clean-ups target.
That means the main risk isn't a hacked account, it's a profile whose numbers look inflated and whose posts reach fewer real people because so few followers react.
Protect your login with two-factor login settings before trying any growth service.

Thunderclap is cheap, fast and password-free, but what it delivered behaved like bots: thousands of new followers, an engagement rate that fell to 0.4% and hundreds lost soon after we stopped. A monthly subscription only repeats the problem. For followers who actually care about your posts, pick from the best growth services on our ranked list.
It sold us bot followers that never engaged; Kicksta brings real people instead.
1.5/5Thunderclap says its followers are real and active, but our results suggest bots. Followers rose by 7,166 while engagement dropped from 3.1% to 0.4%, reach stayed flat and 311 left within 14 days of stopping.
It's a store for social media engagement. It sells Instagram followers, likes, views and comments, plus monthly subscriptions that deliver followers or likes automatically.
One-off follower packages start at $2.49 for 100. The monthly follower subscription starts at $1.99 for 100 followers a month, with Premium followers costing more.
No. It only needs your username, profile link or post link.
Within 30 days, but mainly when an order isn't delivered. If followers drop after delivery, Thunderclap refills them for free within 30 days rather than refunding you.
Kicksta grows your account by putting your profile in front of real people in your niche, and its followers showed the strongest engagement of every service in our test.
