CASE FILE · INSTAGRAM GROWTH
Short version: Ampfluence delivered bot followers in our test. The count leapt by 5,377 while engagement slumped to 0.2% and 571 followers vanished within two weeks, the pattern of fake accounts being purged. It also costs from $249 a month and asks you to switch off two-factor login. Read our Kicksta review for real followers who engage.
Ampfluence is a long-running Instagram growth agency. It says a human team works on your account by hand, and it has added LinkedIn, TikTok, content and community services over the years.
We last reviewed it in 2020. This review is based on its current plans and a fresh 30-day test, measured against the other Instagram growth tools on our site.
Ampfluence presents itself as a hands-on agency: people, not software, working inside your account. What matters for you is the outcome, and in our month that outcome was a large crowd of followers who never engaged.
You pick a plan and fill in an onboarding form about your audience and goals. There's no free trial.
You share your username and password and turn off two-factor authentication. Expect Instagram security notices, because the team logs in from a different location.
The first day goes on reviewing your brief and building a list of target accounts.
The team engages with that audience from your account. Ampfluence asks you to post at least 20 times a month to support the work.
Subscriptions run from the first to the last day of each month. You cancel through the billing portal, and there are no mid-month refunds.
We struggle to name anyone Ampfluence suits. It costs several times more than the services we recommend, asks you to weaken your account security, and the accounts that followed us during testing looked like bots, not people.
The appeal is easy to see: a team of people grows your account while you get on with other work, and Ampfluence presents itself as the safe alternative to bots.
That pitch only holds up if the followers are real. Bot accounts that never engage can make a profile look bigger for a few weeks, but they lower your engagement rate, which tells Instagram your posts aren't worth showing. Our guide to growing real followers explains why that matters more than the count.
If you're comparing human-run services, our Sup Growth review covers another agency with a similar no-bots pitch.
Wolf Growth takes a more software-led approach, and it ended up with the same problem in our tests.
Our Ampfluence trial ran across September and October 2026, a full 30 days on a test profile. When it began, the account had 1,305 followers, and we kept our posting habits unchanged for the whole month.
Every day we noted the follower total, engagement rate and 30-day reach shown in Insights. Fourteen days after ending the service, we checked again to count the followers who had since left.
| Metric | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Followers | 1,305 | 6,682 |
| Engagement rate | 2.7% | 0.2% |
| Accounts reached (30 days) | 5,568 | 5,771 |
| Followers lost after we stopped (14 days) | – | 571 |
You deal with an account manager rather than a faceless app, and you can email the team to change direction.
Prices for each plan are listed on the site, along with average follower targets, so you know the cost before you sign up.
Our follower count shot from 1,305 to 6,682, yet engagement fell from 2.7% to 0.2% and reach barely moved. Within 14 days of stopping, 571 of the new followers were gone. That's how bot accounts behave: they add to the count, never interact, and disappear when Instagram clears them out.
Ampfluence says its team never uses bots or automation. Our results don't fit that claim: real people who choose to follow you like and comment, and they don't vanish by the hundred two weeks later.
Its FAQ says you can't keep two-factor authentication on while the team works, because the security codes slow them down. Turning off one of Instagram's main protections for a growth service is a big ask.
Plans start at $249 a month. There are no refunds for work already done, no partial refunds if you cancel mid-month, and no way to pause a subscription.
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Growth | $249/month | Targeted engagement, email support, standard reporting; average 250+ followers a month |
| Growth x2 | $349/month | Adds hashtag research, priority support and custom reporting; average 500+ a month |
| Growth & Content | $1,499/month | Everything in Growth x2 plus 15 posts, captions and scheduled posts |
| Larger brands | From $4,500/month | Growth plus ads, content and community management |
Prices are monthly, per Instagram account. Subscriptions run by calendar month, can't be paused, and Ampfluence doesn't refund work already performed or give partial refunds for mid-month cancellations.
There's no free trial. Growth & Content adds 15 designed posts, captions and scheduling each month.

Ampfluence's login requirements are the biggest concern. Its team signs in from another location, Instagram sends you security alerts, and the FAQ says two-factor authentication has to stay off. Instagram's two-factor setting is one of the best defences against account theft, and we'd never switch it off for a growth service.
The followers themselves are a risk too. Inactive bot profiles pull your engagement figures lower, and when Instagram deletes them in bulk your count drops again. Ampfluence says it is fully compliant with Instagram's platform terms, but compliance on paper didn't stop our account filling with followers that behaved like bots.
Never disable two-factor authentication for a growth service. If a provider requires it, choose a different provider.

Ampfluence promises human-powered, bot-free growth, yet what showed up looked like bot traffic: thousands arrived, engagement collapsed to 0.2% and 571 were gone two weeks after we stopped. Add a $249 starting price, no refunds and a request to disable two-factor login, and it's a clear no. The brands we back attract genuine, active people, so begin with the top-rated growth services we've tested instead.
The followers it delivered behaved like bots, and it wants two-factor login switched off. Choose Kicksta instead.
1/5It sells managed Instagram growth: staff sign in as you and interact with a chosen audience on your behalf. It also offers content, LinkedIn and TikTok services.
Our numbers suggest so. The count grew by 5,377 as engagement slid to 0.2%, and 571 disappeared within two weeks of stopping. Ampfluence says it never uses bots, but genuine followers don't act this way.
Growth is $249 a month, Growth x2 is $349 and Growth & Content is $1,499. Plans for larger brands start at $4,500 a month.
Yes. Its team needs your username and password, and its FAQ says two-factor authentication can't stay on while it works on your account.
Generally no. Ampfluence says it can't refund work already performed and doesn't give partial refunds for cancelling mid-month. Subscriptions also can't be paused.
Kicksta. It works with two-factor login switched on, starts at $69 a month, and its followers pushed our engagement up to 5.5%.
