Expandi alternatives: 4 tools we'd try instead

Expandi has strong infrastructure, but it charges a premium for every account and promotes features that push past LinkedIn's usual pace. Aimfox keeps the good parts, drops the risky ones and costs half as much.

Why people switch from Expandi

  • It sells ways around the limits

Expandi's Mobile Connector is pitched as a route to roughly 100 extra invitations a week. Aimfox does the opposite and holds every profile to a fixed weekly ceiling.

  • $99 per LinkedIn account adds up

Ten client profiles on Expandi cost $990 a month. Aimfox's agency plan covers 20 seats for $499.

  • A week isn't much of a trial

Expandi offers 7 days. Aimfox and We-Connect give 14 without asking for a card, and Waalaxy and La Growth Machine also allow 14.

  • Cheaper tools cover the basics

Waalaxy starts at $19 and We-Connect at $69, both well under Expandi's entry price.

1. Aimfox: Expandi's strengths without the risky extras

5/5

Why pick it over Expandi?

Both tools run in the cloud with local IPs and a warm-up. The difference is attitude: Expandi markets extra volume, while Aimfox enforces a weekly ceiling. For agencies, Aimfox is also dramatically cheaper.

Best for: Sales teams, agencies and founders running LinkedIn outreach

How Aimfox compares to Expandi

Safety philosophy. Aimfox caps both invitations and message requests at 200 a week and never asks for your LinkedIn password. There's no feature designed to squeeze extra invitations past LinkedIn's normal rhythm.

Agency maths. Aimfox's agency tier costs $499 a month for 20 seats with full white label, and each extra seat is $20. On Expandi, 20 accounts at $99 each would be $1,980.

Single seat. For one profile, Aimfox is $49 against Expandi's $99, with a trial twice as long.

Smart targeting. Expandi's campaigns react to accepts and replies. Aimfox focuses on who you start with, pulling in post engagers, event attendees and group members.

Switch to Aimfox if

You manage several profiles and want lower costs with limits that protect every one of them.

Stay with Expandi if

You depend on Expandi's email follow-ups and shareable client reports, and you never use its extra-volume features.

What we liked

  • Pro: Built-in safety: warmup, hard limits, local IPs
  • Pro: Campaigns from events, groups and post engagers
  • Pro: Unified inbox for every connected profile

What we didn't like

  • Con: Rented profiles cost extra
  • Con: Note with invites needs Premium or Sales Navigator

2. Waalaxy: a low-cost option with brakes built in

4/5

Why pick it over Expandi?

Waalaxy costs a fraction of Expandi and its monthly invitation caps stop you from overreaching, which is the opposite of Expandi's extra-volume pitch.

How Waalaxy compares to Expandi

Price. Pro is $19 a month, Advanced $39 and Business $69, every tier cheaper than one Expandi account.

Beginner-friendly. Ready-made sequences mean newcomers can launch quickly, and Business adds email sequences.

Drawbacks. It runs as a browser extension rather than in the cloud, users report bugs after updates, and the Inbox is an add-on.

Switch to Waalaxy if

You're a solo user or small team and Expandi's price is the main problem.

Stay with Expandi if

You need cloud running and agency workspaces.

What we liked

  • Pro: From $19 a month, 14-day trial
  • Pro: Pre-built sequences, quick setup
  • Pro: LinkedIn plus email on Business

What we didn't like

  • Con: Users report bugs
  • Con: 300 invites a month on Pro

3. La Growth Machine: safety-minded multichannel sequences

4/5

Why pick it over Expandi?

La Growth Machine has positioned itself as a careful way to automate LinkedIn since 2017, and it adds calls, X and voice notes to the LinkedIn-plus-email mix Expandi offers.

Best for: Sales teams running LinkedIn and email together

Channels. Depending on how a lead responds, a single sequence can hop from LinkedIn to email, a phone call or X.

Enrichment. Email lookups cascade through nine providers, and each plan includes enriched leads every month.

Cost and complexity. It's billed per identity at €60, €120 or €180 a month, and plenty of users say it took a while to get comfortable.

Switch to La Growth Machine if

You want richer multichannel sequences and a vendor that treats safety as a selling point.

Stay with Expandi if

You need simpler per-account pricing for many clients.

What we liked

  • Pro: True multichannel sequences with conditions
  • Pro: Personal LinkedIn voice notes at scale
  • Pro: Waterfall email enrichment built in

What we didn't like

  • Con: Billed per identity
  • Con: Steeper learning curve

4. We-Connect: a cheaper cloud tool with CRM sync

3.5/5

Why pick it over Expandi?

We-Connect costs $30 less than Expandi per seat, runs in the cloud with a consistent IP for each account and lets you try it for a fortnight, card-free.

Best for: Sellers who want CRM syncing and a long trial

How We-Connect compares to Expandi

Gradual warm-up. Sending volume rises step by step, a gentler approach than Expandi's extra-invitation features.

CRMs. Native sync covers Zoho, Pipedrive, HubSpot and Salesforce, and referral campaigns help turn connections into introductions.

Complaints. Reviewers mention bugs and slow, weekday-only support. Email workflows start on the $79 plan.

Switch to We-Connect if

You want a lower bill and native CRM syncing for a small team.

Stay with Expandi if

Fast support and agency reporting matter more than price.

Should you switch from Expandi?

For most users, yes. Expandi gets the technical basics right, but its pricing punishes growth and its extra-volume features invite exactly the kind of activity that gets profiles restricted. Aimfox matches its cloud setup, warmup and country-based IPs, then adds firm weekly limits and an agency plan that costs a fraction of Expandi's per-account model. See why Aimfox leads our rankings.

LinkedIn's own automation help page says third-party automation isn't allowed at all, which makes tools that encourage going beyond normal limits especially hard to recommend.

Waalaxy suits tight budgets, La Growth Machine suits multichannel teams, and We-Connect suits CRM-focused sellers. If you run Expandi conservatively and value its client reports, staying is defensible; our Expandi review explains its strengths.

What Expandi alternatives cost at agency scale

Agencies feel Expandi's per-account pricing most. The table shows the monthly cost of running ten LinkedIn profiles, using each tool's published monthly entry price.

Past ten profiles, Aimfox's agency plan costs far less per seat than Expandi. Our agency LinkedIn tools list ranks options for client work in more detail.

Why tools that bypass limits are a problem

Expandi gives you limit ranges it won't exceed, which is good. It also sells campaign types that add around 100 invitations a week on top of normal activity. Those two messages pull in opposite directions.

Limits should protect you by default

A profile that suddenly sends far more than usual is easy to flag. Aimfox's fixed ceiling, Waalaxy's monthly caps and We-Connect's slow warm-up all lean towards caution. LinkedIn also publishes a prohibited software list, a reminder that no tool is officially sanctioned.

Spread the work instead

If you need more conversations, add profiles or channels rather than pushing one account harder. That's why agencies often prefer seat-based plans with strict limits on each seat.

Switching from Expandi to Aimfox

  1. Turn off any Mobile Connector or extra-volume campaigns first, and let each profile settle for a few days.
  2. Export leads and campaign histories for every client account.
  3. Set up Aimfox seats, using white label if clients see your dashboard.
  4. Connect each profile and let Aimfox's warmup take over pacing.
  5. Move conversations into the Unibox so your team answers every client from one place.

Never run Expandi and Aimfox on the same profile at once. Overlapping tools double activity and undo the benefit of switching.

How we picked these alternatives

  1. We started wide. We listed the tools people use most for this job, then dropped any that have shut down or no longer do what they claim.

  2. We checked each tool's own site. Features, limits and monthly prices come straight from the company, on the date shown at the top.

  3. We read what users say. App store and review-site feedback helped us spot problems the sales pages leave out.

  4. We scored and ranked them. Each score reflects how well the tool does the job, how safe it is for your account, and what it costs.

FAQ

What is the best alternative to Expandi?

Aimfox. It shares Expandi's cloud setup and country-based IPs, adds fixed weekly limits of 200 invitations, and costs $49 a seat or $499 for 20 agency seats. Two weeks of free use come without card details.

Is Expandi safe?

Its infrastructure is solid, with dedicated IPs, warm-up and limit ranges. But it promotes features that add about 100 extra invitations a week, which raises the risk of restrictions.

Which Expandi alternative is best for agencies?

Aimfox, because its agency plan covers 20 seats with white label for $499 a month. On Expandi, ten accounts alone cost $990.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Expandi?

Each of Waalaxy ($19), Aimfox ($49) and We-Connect ($69) undercuts Expandi's $99 per account.

Which alternative offers the most channels?

La Growth Machine, which combines LinkedIn, email, calls and X in one sequence, though it's billed per identity.

I review LinkedIn automation and outreach tools. I care about two things: whether a tool actually gets you replies, and whether it keeps your account safe. If a tool pushes LinkedIn's limits, I'll tell you plainly.
