What is Stim Social?

Built mainly for brands and online sellers, Stim Social works as an Instagram growth tool with a simple pitch: more exposure, more followers, and more of those followers clicking through to your site or shop.

The service is now on version 2, which Stim describes as bringing improved targeting, an updated dashboard and a focus on avoiding blocks. Its site lists fitness, ecommerce, food, beauty, travel, blogging and fashion accounts among its users.

How Stim Social works

At its core, Stim Social uses follow and unfollow automation aimed at the audience you define. What it adds on top is business context: suggested targets based on your industry, filters that keep your brand safe, and reports that show what's working.

Step 1: Sign up and connect

Choose a plan and link your Instagram account. Stim's terms explain that it needs your username and password, and that the password is encrypted.

Step 2: Pick or accept targets

Add accounts and hashtags yourself, or start from Stim's suggested targets for your industry, a quick way in if you're unsure where to begin.

Step 3: Set your filters

Use the NSFW filter, whitelist and blacklist to keep activity brand-safe. On Managed and Elite you can also filter by gender.

Step 4: Let it engage

Stim follows relevant users, likes posts after a follow-back and auto-whitelists people who engage, so your best new contacts are never unfollowed.

How we tested it

Stim Social was on our account for 30 days in September and October 2026. The account we used had 999 followers on day one, and nothing else about how we posted changed during the month.

We recorded followers, engagement rate and reach every day using Instagram Insights. When the month ended we cancelled, then returned two weeks later to see how many followers we had kept.

Plans are billed monthly and can be cancelled any time by contacting Stim Social. Note that pausing activity in your dashboard doesn't cancel the subscription. Refund requests are reviewed case by case.

Agencies are invoiced every 30 days at $1.80 per client account per day, and they can rebrand the dashboards as their own.

Is Stim Social safe?

Stim Social version 2 puts avoiding blocks front and center, and its filters help you steer clear of risky or off-brand accounts. Its terms also mention that your account may be logged in from a Stim server located in another country.

Using any automation service carries some risk, because Instagram's service terms prohibit automated access without permission. Stim's own terms make the customer responsible for following those rules, so it's smart to keep activity steady and protect your login.
