Why pick it over Kicksta?
Flock Social costs less to start and keeps a live support desk open day and night. If budget is the reason you're leaving Kicksta, it's the closest match on follower quality.

Results. Flock Social brought in more followers (523 against 248) and only 6 left after we stopped, the same as Kicksta. Kicksta's audience reacted more, though: engagement climbed to 5.5% against Flock Social's 3.9%.
Price. Flock Social's first plan is $39 a month, while Kicksta begins at $69. Note that targeting and follow automation only arrive on Flock Social's $69 tier.
Targeting. Both services let you aim at accounts and hashtags. Flock Social also follows the locations people interact with, which helps a shop or studio with a local crowd.
Support. Flock Social offers 24/7 live chat, and our questions were answered in around 5 hours. Kicksta came back to us in about an hour.
Switch to Flock Social if
You want a cheaper starting plan and like having live chat open around the clock.
Stay with Kicksta if
Engagement from the people who follow you matters more than the size of the jump.

Why pick it over Kicksta?
Nitreo lets you target followers by location, which Kicksta doesn't offer. For a shop or studio that needs local followers, that matters more than raw numbers.

Price. Nitreo starts at $39 a month and Kicksta at $69. Both offer a 7-day free trial.
Targeting. Nitreo adds location targeting and a blacklist. For a local business this is the main reason to choose it.
Setup. Nitreo takes longer to set up (20 minutes against 10) because there are more options to fill in.
Switch to Nitreo if
Most of your customers are in one city and you need local followers.
Stay with Kicksta if
You want the most engaged followers overall, wherever they are.

Why pick it over Kicksta?
Kenji is the most hands-off option here. Its model works out who's likely to follow you, which suits busy owners who don't want to manage targets at all.
Best for: Busy people who want growth on autopilot

Results. On the smallest of our test accounts, Kenji added 220 followers, against Kicksta's 248. Engagement rose on both, reaching 5.3% with Kenji and 5.5% with Kicksta, so Kenji came closest of any rival.
Price. Kenji's plans begin at $39 a month, compared with $69 for Kicksta. Its pricing page lists a 3-day trial, shorter than Kicksta's week.
Effort. Kicksta asks you to pick and review sources. Kenji's machine learning chooses who to engage with and keeps adjusting, so there's almost nothing to tune.
How it grows. Follow and unfollow is always part of how Kenji works and can't be turned off, while Kicksta focuses on likes that bring people to your profile.
Switch to Kenji if
You'd rather set things up once and let software decide who to reach.
Stay with Kicksta if
You like choosing the exact accounts and hashtags your growth comes from.

Probably not. Kicksta is the best Instagram growth service we tested, with the most engaged followers and almost none lost after we stopped. If it's working for you, there is no strong reason to move.
Switch only if one specific thing matters more to you than results. For someone to run it for you, try Upleap. For the cheapest start with live chat, Flock Social. For local followers, Nitreo. For growth on autopilot, Kenji.
Whichever you pick, give it at least three weeks before judging it. Every service we tested had a slower first week.
Price is the most common reason people leave Kicksta, so here is what each option costs and what you get for it. All prices were checked on each tool's own pricing page on October 15, 2026.
| Service | Cheapest plan | Followers in our test | Engagement after 30 days |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kicksta | $69/month | 248 | 5.5% |
| Upleap | $39/month | 448 | 4.3% |
| Flock Social | $39/month | 523 | 3.9% |
| Nitreo | $39/month | 679 | 4.1% |
| Kenji | $39/month | 220 | 5.3% |
Follower counts alone can mislead. Every alternative here starts cheaper than Kicksta, and three of them added more followers, yet none matched its 5.5% engagement rate. Kenji came closest at 5.3%, on a much smaller account. Engaged followers are what push your posts in front of new people.
Kicksta's biggest strength is that every follower is a real person. Do not trade that for speed. Any service that sells followers or promises thousands in a week will hurt your account.
Every service on this page needs your Instagram login, just like Kicksta. Pick one that encrypts it, turn on two-factor authentication first, and change your password if you ever stop using the service.
Local businesses should look for location targeting (Upleap, Flock Social or Nitreo). If you don't want to choose targets at all, Kenji's AI does that part for you.
Every service has a slower first week. A free trial or guarantee lets you see real results before you commit.
Never run two growth services on the same account at once. The extra activity is much more likely to trigger an Instagram warning.
We paid for every tool. We bought each plan with our own card, just like you would.
We ran each one for 30 days. On real accounts we actually run, one tool at a time.
We measured the results. New followers, how many stayed, safety, support and real cost.
We scored and ranked them. The order follows our score out of 5, nothing else.
It depends on why you're leaving. For a managed service, Upleap. For the lowest entry price with live chat, Flock Social. For local followers, Nitreo. For hands-off growth, Kenji. None of them beat Kicksta on engagement in our test.
Yes. Upleap, Flock Social, Nitreo and Kenji all start at $39 a month, against Kicksta's $69.
Not one we would recommend. Free tools either use bots or sell fake followers, both of which can get your account restricted. Growing by hand is the only safe free option.
Kenji is the most automatic. Its machine learning picks who to engage with and keeps improving, so after setup there's very little for you to do.
On engagement, yes. Kicksta scored 5/5 against Flock Social's 4.5/5, and our engagement rate reached 5.5% with Kicksta and 3.9% with Flock Social. Flock Social is cheaper to start and brought in more followers.
