Best for: Teams scaling cold email across many inboxes
Instantly is the simplest way to send cold email from many inboxes at once. Unlimited accounts and warmup on the entry plan make it our top pick, though add-ons can push the bill up.
Instantly's Outreach Growth plan costs $47 a month on monthly billing ($37 when paid yearly) and includes unlimited email accounts, unlimited warmup, 1,000 uploaded contacts and 5,000 emails a month. Its lead database of 450 million-plus B2B contacts, its CRM and its AI agents are separate products with their own credits and bundles, so the total depends on what you add.
You connect as many sending accounts as you like, let Instantly warm them up, and spread each campaign across all of them so no single inbox sends too much. Replies from every account land in one place, and you can pull fresh leads from its database with credits.
Senders who run many inboxes across several domains and want warmup, sending and replies handled in one dashboard.

Best for: Teams that want unlimited inboxes without per-seat fees
Saleshandy is the value pick. Unlimited inboxes from $41 a month and multichannel sequences make it a strong alternative to the bigger names.
Saleshandy's Starter plan is $41 a month when paid monthly ($34 billed annually), Pro is $99 monthly ($76 annually) and Scale $189 monthly ($149 annually). Every plan has unlimited email accounts with no per-inbox fees, and Starter allows 2,000 active prospects in live sequences at once. There's a 7-day free trial.
You connect unlimited sending accounts, build sequences that can include emails, calls, LinkedIn and WhatsApp steps, and let Saleshandy rotate sends and warm up inboxes. Leads can be found and verified inside the app, with one credit covering a whole lookup.
Teams that want to add inboxes freely without per-seat or per-inbox fees, and occasionally reach people by phone or WhatsApp.

Best for: Agencies running cold email for several clients
Smartlead is built for agencies and high-volume senders. It's powerful and well priced at the entry level, but the add-ons and interface take some getting used to.
Paid month to month, Smartlead's Base tier is $39 ($32 if you commit for a year) for 2,000 contacts and 6,000 email sends. Pro is $94 a month for 30,000 contacts and 90,000 sends. Unlimited warmup, a unified master inbox and email follow-up automation are core features, while extra verified-lead credits and dedicated servers are add-ons.
Smartlead spreads sends across your connected inboxes, warms them up, and lets you route replies from every client into a master inbox. You can add dedicated sending servers, email verification and an AI dialer as your volume grows.
Agencies sending on behalf of several clients who need separate workspaces and strong deliverability controls.

Best for: Email-led teams adding LinkedIn touches
lemlist is the personalisation specialist of the group. It costs more than the pure senders, but its image and video personalisation still sets it apart. See our lemlist review for the full picture.
lemlist's Email plan costs $69 a month and covers unlimited users, up to 50,000 emails a month, its lead database, email warm-up and AI agents. Its Multichannel tier, $109 per user each month, brings in calling, texting and LinkedIn steps, with five senders per user. A free trial is available. If it isn't the right fit, the lemlist alternatives we compared list the tools we'd try instead.
You import or find leads, write a sequence with personalised variables, and let lemlist send, warm up your inbox and track replies. Its AI agents can draft messages, and the Multichannel plan adds calls, SMS and LinkedIn steps to the same campaign.
Teams that want highly personalised emails, with custom images and landing pages, and the option to add calls or LinkedIn later.
Price from $69/month

Best for: Small teams that want simple, pay-for-what-you-use cold email
Woodpecker is the simple, low-commitment choice. Paying per contacted prospect keeps small campaigns cheap, though it has fewer advanced features than the leaders. If LinkedIn matters more than email for you, browse our LinkedIn reviews instead.
On monthly billing, Woodpecker starts at $35 a month for 500 contacted prospects, with annual billing saving about a third. Unlimited email verification, warm-ups, team members and email accounts are included, and its LinkedIn outreach add-on costs $29 a month per connected LinkedIn account. A 14-day trial needs no card.
Woodpecker charges by contacted prospects. You add sending accounts and teammates at no extra cost, write follow-up sequences, and let it check catch-all addresses and filter out-of-office replies. LinkedIn steps can be added for an extra fee per connected account.
Small teams that send in modest volumes and would rather pay for the people they contact than for seats.
Price from $35/month
Cold email tools exist because sending outreach from a normal inbox doesn't scale. Once you write to more than a few dozen new people a day, you need automatic follow-ups, a way to spread sends across several inboxes, and warmup so mailbox providers don't flag you as spam.
The tools on this list all do those three jobs. Where they differ is in how they charge, how many inboxes they let you connect, and how much extra they bundle in, from lead databases to AI writing and phone steps.
Deliverability decides whether any of your emails are read. These are the habits every tool on this list supports, and the ones that matter most.
Reply rates are the clearest signal that your setup is healthy. If a campaign that used to get replies suddenly goes quiet, pause it before you change the copy: check your bounce rate, look for a spike in spam complaints, and send a few test emails to see whether they land in the inbox or the promotions tab. Fixing a deliverability problem early is far cheaper than recovering a domain that providers have already learned to distrust.
If you also prospect on LinkedIn, run that channel with a tool designed for it. Our guide to LinkedIn outreach tools compares the options.

We read every figure above from the vendors' pricing pages on October 16, 2026, using month-to-month rates. Paying yearly lowers the cost with all five.
Some tools charge per contact, some per send and some per seat. Work out what you'll actually send in a month, then compare the real cost for that volume.
If you'll connect many inboxes, choose a tool with unlimited accounts on its entry plan, such as Instantly or Saleshandy.
Built-in warmup, inbox rotation and verification protect your domain. They matter more than templates or AI features.
Agencies need separate client workspaces and white-label options; Smartlead is strongest there.
lemlist's custom images and landing pages help when every email must feel one-to-one.
Several of these tools now add LinkedIn steps to email sequences. That can lift reply rates, but LinkedIn's own guidance rules out outside programs that act on members' accounts automatically, so handle those steps with care.
LinkedIn's help pages list crawlers, bots and browser add-ons that pull data from the site or act for a member among the software it bans.

Keep LinkedIn volumes low inside any email tool, or move LinkedIn outreach to a specialist with built-in limits. Our Aimfox review shows how a LinkedIn-first tool handles that, and you can keep email in the tool you pick here.
Set up sending domains Buy one or two separate domains and set up their email authentication records before anything else.
Warm up first Connect the new inboxes and let warmup run for two to three weeks.
Start small Begin with a small, verified list and a short three-step sequence.
Scale with more inboxes Track replies and meetings, then add inboxes, not daily volume per inbox, as you grow.
We started wide. We listed the tools people use most for this job, then dropped any that have shut down or no longer do what they claim.
We checked each tool's own site. Features, limits and monthly prices come straight from the company, on the date shown at the top.
We read what users say. App store and review-site feedback helped us spot problems the sales pages leave out.
We scored and ranked them. Each score reflects how well the tool does the job, how safe it is for your account, and what it costs.
Cold email software sends personalised outreach emails to people you haven't contacted before, follows up automatically when they don't reply, and protects your sender reputation with warmup and sending limits.
Instantly is our top pick for most senders because unlimited inboxes and warmup come with its $47 a month entry plan. Saleshandy is the best value, and Smartlead suits agencies.
On monthly billing, entry plans run from $35 a month for Woodpecker to $69 a month for lemlist. Instantly starts at $47, Saleshandy at $41 and Smartlead at $39.
Warmup sends and receives a small, growing number of normal-looking emails from a new inbox so mailbox providers learn to trust it. Skipping it is one of the fastest ways to land in spam.
Some can, as an extra. lemlist's Multichannel plan, Saleshandy's sequences and Woodpecker's paid add-on include LinkedIn steps, but LinkedIn limits automated activity, so one of the LinkedIn automation tools in our ranking is safer for heavy use.
Most cold email tools sell or connect to B2B lead data, but they work best with lists you've built carefully for your ideal customer. Sending to bought, unverified lists is the quickest way to damage your domain.
