Tagscout was a growth service that performed basic interactions, such as liking posts and following/unfollowing other accounts.
Since they’ve been shut down, their website doesn’t work anymore, so you won’t be able to find much info.
In essence, they were an all-in-one Instagram marketing tool that was supposed to help you grow your account and manage your Instagram, largely through automation.

How Does Tagscout Work?
Well, it doesn’t anymore.
Tagscout’s claim was that they were going to automate every single aspect of growing your Instagram account – from attracting followers to generating likes and exchanging comments.
According to them, their biggest selling point was the easy-to-use interface. Even if you’re not tech-savvy, Tagscout promised the tool would be super easy to use.
But, I want to get into the reason why their services had to be discontinued.
Even if it was so easy to use, that is not the point. I want to focus on the way they operated.
When I tell you how unscrupulous Tagscout was, you won’t be surprised the company collapsed. After all, the one-star reviews speak for themselves.
First of all, their website wasn’t secure. This alone should be an indicator something’s not right. Any firm that doesn’t have an https site (a secure one), shouldn’t be given the benefit of the doubt.
I’ve browsed through numerous reviews on sites like Trustpilot and Sitejabber, and I was kind of shocked by all the reviews with a negative tone.

People complained that Tagscout continued to charge them even long after they would cancel their accounts. And in case you wanted to give a statement of dissatisfaction, it was very hard getting in touch with customer service.
Many users stated that customer service was very unreliable, even if you didn’t have such a huge problem.
Besides the horrible customer service and the money fraud, there were a couple of dissatisfied consumers who said Tagscout got their account banned. They didn’t list the precise reason why it happened, but I assume it was due to high bot activity.
We all know Instagram has strict rules and a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to bots, so it’s quite conceivable that’s what happened.
Oh, but that’s not all.
As a cherry on top of an already messed up cake, this firm was also accused of hacking people’s Instagram accounts.

Tagscout Features
Targeting
Their targeting feature consisted of four parts:
- Hashtags
- Locations
- Influencer accounts
- Special Excel lists
You could choose specific hashtags and geotags according to which Tagscout would later follow, unfollow, like, and comment. You could also give them a few usernames (people from your niche) and Tagscout would perform those actions on their followers.
Tagscout offered you to download a sample Excel sheet that you could fill with usernames and upload it to their website.
Automated actions
With Tagscout, you could have fully automated:
- Following
- Unfollowing
- Liking
- Content scheduling
- Commenting
- Direct messaging
The auto DMs were a good idea that was poorly executed. Tagscout allowed you to create a few short template messages and it would send them in bulk to mostly random users (which most of them considered spam).
Speed of automation
This feature gave you the option to choose activity speed (low, medium, fast), and the number of daily likes, followers, and comments.
Now you’re maybe thinking that all this sounds very legit and it could be something you’d actually want to try.
And it does.
Admittedly, Tagscout was a well thought out service. If they played by the rules, I think they’d make a pretty decent Instagram growth tool.
Tagscout Pricing
Time to check out how much Tagscout used to charge.
There were two packages, the Growth Starter, and Premium. Compared to many other growth services, Tagscout was on the affordable side. Plus, you could get a five days free trial.
The Growth Starter package included user targeting, low-speed automation, automated DMs, 3 scheduled posts per week, and support via email.
With the Premium package, you’d get similar features, but fast speed automation, an unlimited number of scheduled posts, and dedicated scout support. Since most users complained about their customer service, I’m not sure what the dedicated support entailed.
If you had more than one Instagram account, Tagscout offered special packages.
Besides the fact that they kept charging people even after they’d cancel, Tagscount also didn’t have any sort of refund available.
Is Tagscout Legit?
The answer to this question is pretty unambiguous – no, Tagscout was not legit. Not only did they trick clients out of money, but they also hacked into their accounts.
Such unethical practices can’t be regarded as legitimate.
Is Tagscout Safe?
Well, obviously not.
Firstly, they didn’t have a secure website. My advice to you is never to leave your personal information, including credit card info to any unsafe sites. It’s too much of a risk that’s definitely not worth it.
Secondly, taking money from people after they cancel your service is quite fraudulent (not to mention the hacking activities).

Was Tagscout unfairly shut down?
Quite the opposite.
To be honest, Tagscout wasn’t the worst service while they still worked – they had a couple of okay features that could make them a mediocre service at best.
But, the constant rule-breaking and the very many deceitful actions cannot be ignored.
Such behavior is not excusable, so I believe their end was fair play.
This is a perfect example of why it’s crucial always to do extensive research before opting for an Instagram growth service. While there are many legit and safe companies, there are also a lot of those who only want to trick you.
So be careful, do your research, and choose wisely.
