Social Package Review: Is The Service Dead?

It’s no secret that Instagram is overcrowded. Due to that, many people think it’s hopeless to try and build an influential account from scratch.

I’ll let you in on a secret – they’re wrong.

Growing a significant account is not impossible. It’s being done every single day, and all you need is dedication and the right tools.

If you want the best tool & best reliable service for growing your following on Instagram, Upleap is the way to go. I’ve compared and reviewed it in detail here to back up this claim.

Speaking of tools, I’m going to talk about one of them today – Social Package. Rumor has it that it’s not working anymore, and I can confirm that this is true.

So, in my Social Package review, I’ll explain how the company functioned and what went wrong.

Read it to learn about what kind of services to avoid!

What Is Social Package?

A screenshot of Social Package's website

The news of the Social Package shut down is correct. If you try to go to their website, you’ll get redirected to Xplodemarketing.com.

Some would say the service “rebranded” to Xplode Marketing, but I would hesitate to use this word. Social Package was a social media growth tool. The new company, however, is a full-blown marketing agency.

To avoid confusion, I’d like to point out that this review is about the late Social Package. I’ll talk about what the company used to do and what led to its demise.

As I said, Social Package was a social media growth tool. It claimed to be able to grow people’s YouTube, Facebook, Soundcloud, and Instagram accounts.

I assume you’re interested in the latter. Here’s how it went – you could buy Instagram followers, likes, and views. That was it.

On their former website, they boasted how they’re “the number one growth agency.” This, of course, is outrageous. All they did was sell engagement and followers, and, as it turned out, all of it was fake.

As you may know, Instagram can’t stand bots. The platform is trying to weed them out. This is an issue for agencies like Social Package for various reasons.

First, if you purchase a bunch of fake (bot) followers, Instagram will delete them. The service’s customers will be angry and demand a refill or refund.

Second, you may get suspended or even banned from IG. Again, any company that gets people banned will develop a nasty reputation.

We can’t know for sure, but the issues described above probably forced Social Package to close. They wouldn’t be the first one to go down like this.

How Does Social Package Work?

Social Package sold engagement and followers for various social media. Like I explained earlier, they provided services for Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and Soundcloud.

There’s not much information left about the details of their business. It looks like you could buy one-time packages and monthly subscriptions.

In theory, that’s how things should have worked. However, the reality was quite different.

Towards the end of its life, Social Package started to get sloppy. They’d underdeliver or straight up scammed people for their money. It was bad, and I’ll talk about it more in a minute.

Social Package Features

The service offered basic social media growth features. If you want to know what they were, take a look below. My focus will be on features for Instagram.

Instagram Engagement

Social Package allowed you to buy Instagram, likes, views, and automatic likes. The former two were one-time purchases that got you a specific number of each. They got delivered at once in the amount you paid for.

Auto-likes were paid monthly. This feature provided you with likes on your new uploads.

Operations like these are problematic because Instagram doesn’t allow them. The platform’s algorithm could easily detect such activity and punish you. Persisting to purchase likes or views eventually leads to a ban.

Instagram Followers

Selling followers was the second pillar of Social Package’s Instagram services. For a one-time fee, you could have bought a certain amount of followers. Just like the engagement, they’d get delivered to your profile instantly.

There were two big issues with this feature.

The first one was like I said, Instagram disapproved of it (and still does). Getting followers this way got people suspended.

The second was that, even if the platform didn’t ‘scold’ you, they’d delete most of the followers you bought. The algorithm recognized them as fake and removed them.

Other Social Media

Do you remember how I said there’s little information available about Social Package? Well, because of this, I wasn’t able to collect details about their features for other social media.

What I know for sure is that they sold Facebook likes and YouTube views.

Regarding the latter, I’ve even seen a complaint from a customer. The person claimed how they bought views and how they were removed the same day by YouTube. This supposedly happened because they were fake.

Social Package Pricing

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get my hands on Social Package’s pricing. There’s no trace of it anywhere online. However, I did come across something interesting that may be useful here.

When Social Package closed, they rebranded into a short-lived social media growth service called Media Whale. It seems that their services remained identical despite the name change.

Media Whale isn’t around anymore, but I found their prices. I guess they’re similar to those of Social Package, perhaps even the same.

The 500 likes package cost around $5, while 10K likes could be bought for $75.99. The monthly auto-likes plans were priced between $29.99 and $180.

This was quite expensive for such a risky service.

Is Social Package Legit?

Social Package might have been legit at some point, but then something went wrong. Instagram introduced a new policy that banned botting technology. After that, Social Package turned into a terrible service.

Some customer reviews I found said how the company shamelessly cheated them. They bought a service, paid for it, and never received it.

Others said how they purchased followers, and it turned out they were all fake. To make matters worse, most of them disappeared after a few days.

Requests for refunds met silence.

Is Social Package Safe?

By all accounts, Social Package was not safe. They put Instagram accounts at risk and got many of them in trouble. People lost their money without ever getting any services.

It was probably desperation that made Social Package scam so many customers. They knew they were getting shut down, so they tried to grab as much as possible before closing for good.

It’s not the first time I’ve seen such a case.

Social Package Review: Final Verdict

Was Social Package effective?

I doubt it.

Any results that it may have provided were short-term. Companies that rely on bots are too risky to use, and there are very few benefits one can derive from them.

My advice would be to look for a credible growth service that does things the organic way. I’ve listed out a few good ones in the table below.

Top 10 Instagram Growth Tools

Buying likes and followers is not a long-term solution if you’re looking to grow your Instagram account. Doing so might end up getting your account banned by Instagram. That’s a big oof.
