What Is Prospect.io?

A screenshot of Prospect.io’s homepage.

My very first impression of Prospect.io was, “what a nice website.”

I thought it was well-organized, the colors were easy on the eyes, and it offered helpful but concise information about the firm. Also, it’s very user-friendly, which is always a plus.

According to the website, Prospect.io is not A sales automation tool; it’s THE sales automation tool, as in the only one you’ll ever need.

Their main selling point is their ability to “increase your outbound sales team productivity” with the help of their “multichannel sales automation platform.”

Admittedly, this sounds appealing to any potential customer who’s in this line of business. But how much of it is true?

That’s what we’ll find out today.

Right off the bat, I can tell you this company has its ups and downs.

Unlike many from the same niche, this one is not so bad. One of the things I particularly liked is the company’s dedication towards customers – they’re always happy to help you and guide you.

How Do You Use Prospect.io?

To use this app, the first thing you need to do is sign up on their official website prospect.io:

A screenshot of the sign-up form from Prospect.io’s website.

As you can see, they ask for your company’s name, email address, and you have to create a password – it’s all pretty standard.

After you register, the company will guide you through the rest of the process. They’ll help you set things up, such as adding contacts, creating lists, adding your sending address, etc. This is what I mean when I say the people from Prospect.io are as keen as mustard to help you.

This type of guiding is quite common with digital marketing tools, but Prospect.io really tries to make it as comprehensive and easy as possible.

That’s great and all, but…

You can see where I’m going with this.

The time has come to discover the dark sides of this service.

What Customers Think Of Prospect.io

Remember when I told you I had trouble finding in-depth Prospect.io reviews? Well, the truth is, it was challenging finding ANY reviews of this company.

When I first set out to research the service, almost habitually, the first thing I searched for was Trustpilot reviews.

Imagine my disappointment when I saw there were only two available reviews on this site.

I was further disheartened by the fact the two reviews are irreconcilable. One of them is a 5-star review that calls the service nothing short of perfect, while the other one calls this company a fraud.

I’ll show you both, so you see what I mean:

This person even claims LinkedIn closed their account because of Prospect.io.

So, who are we to trust?

That is the million-dollar question, indeed.

I also checked Prospect.io’s page on Trustradius.

In short, customers gave the highest rating to the following parts of the service:

✅ Sales email templates

✅ Load time/data access

✅ List upload/download

✅ Identification of new leads

The parts with the lowest score are:

⛔ List quality

⛔ Smart lists and recommendations

⛔ Filters and segmentation

⛔ Ideal customer targeting

I investigated further for more Prospect.io reviews with no luck. My trusted review site Sitejabber doesn’t even have a Prospect.io page. Sadly, the same goes for all the other review sites.

Is Prospect.io Worth It?

How much do you have to pay for all the benefits and shortcomings I’ve mentioned so far?

Prospect.io offers monthly and yearly payments.

If you go with the former, these are the exact price points:

A screenshot of monthly prices for Prospect.io’s service.

They have two packages: Essential and Business. They differ in both the price and available features, so think twice about your needs before you purchase either.

For instance, the Business plan has some features that can turn out to be beneficial to your business, such as advanced CRM integrations, workflow reviews, REST API access, and so on.

If you decide to fully commit to Prospect.io, it’s better to go with a yearly plan, as they cost $20 less on a monthly basis:

What I didn’t appreciate is the fact there is no free trial of any kind.

But, I did like the 30-day money-back guarantee that comes with each package. However, I found complaints about the refund saying it’s impossible to get your money back, so I’m still not sold on this one.

Reliable and safe tools are hard to come by, good thing AimFox exists to fill this niche. It’s been tested thoroughly by the community and offers better value than it’s competitors. Check out my AimFox review and see for yourself.

Prospect.io Review – The Bottom Line

All things considered, I have to tell you I don’t really have any strong feelings towards this service, neither positive nor negative.

My overall impression can be summed up in one word – meh.

The truth is this company is far from the worst, but it’s also pretty far from the best.

Speaking from experience, I know there are companies that offer a higher quality service for a more affordable price, like the ones I talked about in the beginning.

So, if you have no time (and money) to waste, I genuinely recommend you to check them out and forget about this mediocre-at-best service.
