What we do

We test online tools that people pay for. We started with Instagram growth services and LinkedIn automation tools, because that's where we saw the most fake reviews. Now we test social media management tools too.

For every tool, we:

• buy a plan ourselves, just like any customer
• use it on a real account for at least 30 days
• measure what happened
• give it a score out of 5 and a clear verdict

Why the platypus?

A platypus looks like it was put together from spare parts, and nobody believed it was real at first. Scientists had to check it for themselves. That's how we feel about most tool claims: we don't believe them until we've checked. Our platypus wears a detective hat for a reason.

Our goal: a safer internet, and tools that actually work

The internet is full of tools that promise a lot and deliver little. Some of them do worse than that: they put your account at risk, sell you fake followers, or quietly misuse your data. We think you deserve to know before you sign up.

So our goal is simple. We want to help you find the tools that really work, and keep you away from the ones that don't.

How we work

• We test before we recommend. We only recommend a tool after we've used it ourselves, on a real account.
• Safety comes first. If a tool could get your account restricted or puts your data at risk, we say so clearly, even if it's popular.
• Plain answers. We tell you who a tool is for and who should skip it, in everyday words.
• We keep checking. Tools change, so we retest them and update our reviews when they do.
